Zea Mays

Zea Mays is an accordion-fold artist book which contemplates the perception of a single organism. Each page depicts the corn plant at different magnifications of view, beginning with its cellular structure and widening in scope until we see a map of the plant's cultivation over North America. The book is constructed of hand-made Corn paper, gathered from a farm in Western Massachusetts.
